Pacifica Theater, Brilliance of the Seas
Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

Launched in 2002, Brilliance of the Seas is the second Radiance class ship of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. WBA’s design for the Radiance Class ships continued with the design of this 915-seat venue.

The theater’s design theme was drawn from Many of the world’s exotic coastlines are defined by upsurges in the earth’s molten core. The Pacific Ocean’s “Ring of Fire,” for example, give us the memorable landscapes of Japan’s Mt. Fuji and the islands of Hawaii and Indonesia. This uneasy union of water and fire has long lured adventurers and travelers alike, and these magnificent fiery places were the point of departure for the design of the Pacifica Theater. The theater takes the elements of fire and water and combined them in an abstract sculptural composition that presents passengers with a space that is both dramatic and sensuous. The overall effect is one that reflects the drama of the Pacific Rim.
