Disney Boardwalk
Orlando, Florida

The Disney Boardwalk is a unique retail/entertainment complex featuring 250,000 s.f. of shops, restaurants, theatres and nightclubs. Designed as a link from the Swan and Dolphin hotels to the secondary entrance of Epcot, the project acts as a "non-gated" destination. Large themed restaurants anchor the corners. Centered between in-line stores are four main gates leading to major attractions --The Magic Dinner Theatre, Circus Dinner Theatre, Locals Only Nightclub and Midway Arcade. The Hippodrome, at the center of the horseshoe complex, has food vendors at the ground floor with a multi-purpose ballroom above.

The plan was implemented by the Disney Development Company in 1993 after substantial reprogramming, design modifications and the introduction of a hotel with ground floor retail.
