Midway Studios, Fort Point
Boston, Massachusetts

Midway Studios arts complex is the 200,000 s.f. redevelopment of three contiguous, hundred year old brick warehouses in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, long an enclave of the city’s arts community. This mixed-use development combines a 200-seat black box theatre, gallery and rehearsal space, a cafe, offices and 89 “live/work” artist condominiums, at 24-38 Midway Street.

Our project design services included the original feasibility study for the overall renovation of this six story Boston warehouse, and the planning, design and construction oversight of the project’s arts and public spaces.

Working with the Fort Point Development Collaborative, a joint venture of the Fort Point Cultural Coalition and Keen Development Corporation, Midway Studios is part and parcel of Channel Center, a four-block residential, office, and retail complex that is being developed in three phases by Beacon Capital Partners.

For the project’s residential spaces, Spalding Tougias Architects, Inc. and Finegold Alexander + Associates Inc. are the design and executive architects, respectively.
