Samuel C. Wax Academic Center at Endicott College
Beverly, Massachusetts

This addition to Endicott College's Academic Center provides a new focal point for the campus. The two-story addition includes a student gathering space and snack area, a stone terrace to host functions, a food preparation area, a seminar/conference room, and office space. An important consideration in the design was the addition's connection to the existing Academic Center and the rest of the campus, while allowing room for the College's future expansion plans to northeast of the Center. Among the key elements that link the new and existing spaces are a courtyard with primary access from the new addition, a pedestrian bridge from the parking area, and connection to the adjacent nursing and science wings. The new addition plays a central role in these plans and has become a crossroads and an important gathering place on the larger campus.

Scott Butler and Tom Hains were Project Architect and Architect respectively, while with Rothman Partners, Inc.
