September 2007: “...lightens the load for Wilson and Butler...” Bruce Herrmann (center), AIA, long term colleague of Scott Wilson, AIA and Scott Butler, AIA, and senior Wilson Butler Architects' staff member since 1998, joins Scott and Scott as the firm's third Director. Founding partner Scott Wilson welcomes Bruce’s expanded leadership position: “Bruce’s skillful project management has always been an invaluable component of our successful projects. Now that he has joined us as a firm partner, Scott and I look forward to his new role, as well as shorter work days and longer vacations.” “…and concludes crowd-pleasing run with the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts!” Since 1998, Bruce Herrmann, AIA has been an integral part of Wilson Butler Architects’ practice of architecture for arts and entertainment and of firm’s work for The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, CT. As project manager of both the award-winning 900-seat Belding Theatre, which opened in 2001, and then the phased-restoration of the Center’s historic Mortensen Hall, glowingly completed this year, Bruce has skillfully led the Bushnell into the 21st century. Rave Reviews “Bruce Herrmann works in the most mysterious way...and yet he is the most honest, straightforward person you could want to meet. His soft spoken nature was alarming, at first. Could this man guide us through the overwhelming process, risk and unknowns that lay before this organization? Though unassuming in every way, he masterfully maneuvered through the mine fields of a 100,000 sf addition and renovation project. His steady approach and commitment were unshakable and set the tone for a most positive and productive design/construction team. The results are a harmonious performing arts center that delivers in every way— form, function, time, and budget. Bruce is a true problem-solver, an outstanding collaborator, and Lynn Robinson |
